The Indianapolis Colts made waves by selecting Spencer Shrader over Blake Grupe as their kicker, banking on Shrader’s powerful leg and clutch preseason performance despite questions around consistency. Can Shrader’s storybook comeback from an ACL tear fuel the Colts’ hopes in nail-biter games after his 60- and 61-yard preseason field goals?
Attention shifts to the Colts’ core: Daniel Jones’ health remains critical after last season’s winless stretch without him, while Quenton Nelson and Jonathan Taylor anchor the run game with elite play at their positions. DeForest Buckner’s presence shored up the run defense, and Sauce Gardner stands as the pillar of a shaky secondary. With Alec Pierce stretching the field and Keenan Allen adding depth, the question remains—will these impact players deliver in a season loaded with playoff ambitions?
