Indianapolis Colts fans searching for answers found precious few after another tough outing, where kicker Spencer Shrader emerged as a surprising MVP with a perfect 5-for-5 day and multiple 50+ yard field goals, highlighting a concerning reliance on special teams. DeForest Buckner continued his All-Pro campaign as the lone standout on defense, but the lack of red zone efficiency and playmaking from others kept momentum limited.
Secondary concerns rose as overpaid corners Mooney and Sauce Gardner underperformed, with untimely penalties and coverage lapses against the Steelers. Missed tackles from Akeem Davis-Gaither and Bryce Boettcher set up touchdowns for Jaylen Warren, who ran wild behind porous Colts tackling. Can the pass rush and linebacker corps step up before facing the Titans next week? With no turnovers for the first time and the Jones-Warren connection showing signs of life, Indianapolis faces tough questions as the NFL season progresses.
